He served as commander of the Maglan Special Forces unit in the IDF, and was also secretary general of the Israeli branch of Bnei Akiva and deputy chairman of Mateh Binyamin Regional Council. He was placed ninth on the Jewish Home list for the 2013 Knesset elections, and entered the Knesset as the party won 11 seats.
